Equipment

Q: Is there a warranty on equipment purchased from RTB?

A:

• If you purchase a piece of equipment As-Is there is no warranty.

• If you purchase a piece of equipment Serviced & Operational there is no warranty; however, S&O equipment can be returned for a full refund, provided that is done within 30 days of shipment from our facility, the equipment is returned in the condition it was shipped and the freight is paid both ways by the customer.

• If you purchase a piece of equipment reconditioned, it has a 90 day limited warranty. (See Terms & Conditions.)

• If you purchase a piece of equipment remanufactured, it has a 1 year limited warranty. (See Terms & Conditions.)

Q: What if I can’t find the equipment I’m looking for on your site?

A:

If you can’t find an item on our website, please contact your local sales representative. Inventory is added frequently and your representative will discuss the potential availability with our purchasing team.

Q: Will you buy my used equipment?

A:

We are always interested in acquiring well-maintained equipment pending the current market conditions and existing RTB inventory. Please contact your sales representative to discuss further.

Q: Will you take my equipment as a trade-in for new/used equipment?

A:

We are open to equipment trades either for another piece of equipment in our pre-owned inventory or when purchasing a new piece of Shaffer equipment. Trade-in equipment should be well-maintained equipment and the final decision will be dependent upon the current market conditions and existing RTB inventory.

Q: What are the different levels of service for pre-owned equipment?

A:

We offer pre-owned equipment at four different service levels to meet your bakery needs and your budget. They are, AS IS, SERVICED & OPERATIONAL, RECONDITIONED and REMANUFACTURED. Click here to learn more about each level of service.

Q: Will you rebuild my existing equipment?

A:

Instead of rebuilding your existing equipment we would be happy to consider a trade-in for your equipment and provide you with another piece of pre-owned equipment from our inventory.

Q: Do you provide bakery auction services?

A:

If you are interested in selling your plant as a whole to another client or auctioning off your plant, RTB will be happy to assist you. We have years of experience selling whole plants or assisting with the auctioning of plants/individual lines.

Pans

Q: Will you purchase my old pans?

A:

We are always interested in acquiring well-maintained bakery pans pending the current market conditions and existing RTB inventory. Please contact your sales representative to discuss further.

Q: Is there a warranty guaranteeing the condition of the sheet pans over their expected lifetime?

A:

There is no warranty or life guarantee for used pans. However, be assured, we do not sell pans that would not provide you a fair return on your investment based on the pan condition.

Q: Do you sell pans “As-Is”?

A:

Yes, we can sell pans “As-Is” at the customer’s request. However, we always recommend re-glazing because glaze has a shelf life and even new, never-used pans typically need re-glazing after sitting on the shelf for a year.

Q: What is the “glaze” that is used to coat your pans?

A:

If you purchase pans with glaze, we use our proprietary AMERICOAT® Plus glaze. It is a silicone based coating that is PFOA and PTFE free and conforms to FDA standards for coatings in contact with food per 21CFR175.300.

Q: What if I can’t find the pan I’m looking for on your site?

A:

If you can’t find an item on our website, please contact your local sales representative. Inventory is added frequently and your representative will discuss the potential availability with our purchasing team. We may also be able to provide you with new custom or stock pans through American Pan® or Chicago Metallic.
